Pope Benedict XVI Proclaims Year of Faith in 2012

Pope Benedict XVI Declares Year of Faith 2012

In his Sunday Mass on Oct 16, Pope Benedict XVI proclaimed a year of faith saying, "It will be a moment of grace and commitment to a more complete conversion to God, to strengthen our faith in Him and proclaim Him with joy to the people of our time." He also spoke on the importance of sharing the Gospel in the New Evangelization.

"The Year of Faith is a summons to an authentic and renewed conversion to the Lord,
the one Savior of the world. In the mystery of His death and resurrection, God has revealed
in its fullness the Love that saves and calls us to conversion of life. The 'door of faith'
is always open for us. It is possible to cross that threshold when the word of God
is proclaimed and the heart allows itself to be shaped by transforming grace."
