More than a half-century ago, Yousef Nawas founded Nawas International Travel. As a young man he had an idea: to bring travelers to the Holy Land, an area he both knew and loved. In 1949, he established Nawas Tourist Agency in a small room in the Old City of Jerusalem, and he succeeded beyond his wildest dreams.
"I built our company on a foundation of respect for our clients and a commitment to providing a high quality experience," said Mr. Nawas, who handed the presidency over to his son Soli in 1994. Mr. Nawas maintained an active role in the company as chairman of the board until his passing in November 2010 at the age of 95.
